The gothic vineyard estate Kränzel, property of the von Pfeil family in Tscherms/Cermes, was first mentioned in documents in the year 1350. The ancient estate, surrounded by vineyards and a garden with a labyrinth, has a long tradition in wine growing. This is shown by the wine press - the "Torggl" - in the vaulted cellar, as well as in documents from 1577. At Kränzelhof we process the grapes from 6 hectares of our own and leased areas. The vineyards are located between 300 and 600 metres above sea level on the southeastern hillsides of the Merano valley. The mild climate and the loose moraine soil give our white wines Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer their unique character. Our red wines Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and the classic Vernatsch and Lagrein are distinguished by exceptional elegance and balanced structure.
