Tradition does not lie. It is no coincidence that viticulture has been carried out on the Prackfolerhof farm since the 17th century. The conditions for high-quality viticulture are optimal, and the minerally freshness and elegance of the wines produced here are reminiscent of the surrounding peaks of the Dolomites.
The Prackfolerhof farm is located, in the village of Völser Aicha, which is part of the municipality of Völs am Schlern. It extends over a sunny site at the bottom of the Schlern and Rosengarten Dolomites massif, at 600 meters a.s.l. The imposing mountains provide for cool nights after hot days. These temperature differences, along with the moraine soil above the volcanic local quartz porphyry strata, provide ideal conditions for high-quality viticulture.
The first mention of our farm dates back to 1429, and wine has been produced here since the 17th century. Today, its management follows the rhythm of the seasons and the unwritten laws of sustainability. We vinify the grapes in our own wine cellar, according to a traditional vinification and storage system – from the vine to the glass.
