Strasserhof, owned by the Baumgartner family, is located above the famous Neustift monastery/Abbazia di Novacella in Valle Isarco at about 700 m above sea level. Situated on the sunny southeast slopes, traditional winegrowing at the 1000-year-old Strasserhof goes all the way back to the early middle ages. In 2003 we committed to producing and self-marketing our wines. We have been members of the association of free winegrowers in South Tyrol (“Freie Weinbauern Südtirol”) since 2005. Today, on an area of about 5 hectares, we cultivate the best varieties of white wines of our region, famous for its white wine: Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, Kerner, Riesling and Veltliner. Our wines are characterised by fruitiness, freshness and a mineral note. The production is currently about 40,000 bottles a year.
